Site that sells a dropshipping list -vs- site that dropships products as a service

When it comes to dropshipping sites, services, lists etc. there can be some confusion as to what one is actually purchasing.  For those new to dropshipping I want to clear it up a bit if I can. (at least as far as The Shipper is concerned)

The Shipper has certified hundreds of suppliers/manufacturers/dropshipping companies that when you get a purchase on your site, you send the order to them and they will fulfil it for you.  The sites that dropship products as a service will handle the fulfulment for you.  They may ship if out of a warehouse they have or they may be the ones that call the supplier and do it for you.

Why do I feel this is a dis-advantage to you?  Most of these kind of companies implement a huge mark up on the product including dropshipping fees, and if you really research them out on places like Ebay you will find that very few products out of the "hundreds of thousands" you can actually make money on.  Take it even a step further and research out most of the competition on the regular search results and you will also find that your product prices are out of reach with these kind of "services".

Working with the companies at The Shipper you are not dealing with a second (or third) "middle man" and you are getting a better price because you are going straight to the source.  I personally feel that purchasing any solutions that offer dropshipping as a service rather then a list of actual drop shippers is a waste of your time and money.  It will only hurt you in the long run and you will regret it later on.

An advantage of working with a service like Shopster.com that does not mark up products but is subscription driven is that all the relationships with the dropshippers are already negotiated and the process of them receiving the orders is down to an art form. Shopster will handle customer service when your customer wants to know the status of an order or work through the entire return process which can be a nightmare with a dropshipper.

If you want to give your customers the best service, get a good relationship with them and your time is worth $30 a month.  Take a look at www.shopster.com
