I have seen most that are new to internet business, and wanting to start drop shipping, a little scared when it comes to talking with suppliers. I understand where this fear comes from. You may think to yourself; "Why do they want to deal with me"? "I am a nobody to them, and I don't even have a website".
If you are feeling this way when thinking about setting up relationships with suppliers its ok, but you also must know its easy to overcome, and even easier to deal with dropship companies.
Dropship companies want to make money, and they deal with a lot of people everyday who think they will be making a lot of money selling their products. The truth of it is these suppliers realize only a small percentage is going to actually be earning them any money. They don't know who it can be though. They generally like dealing with people that are persistent and on top of them. Email them up, call them and always be asking them for more information about the product and what you can get access to. If you sound like you know what you are doing then it makes it easier for the dropshipping company to work with you. You can't be timid and afraid to call back, and call back again. You have to make them want to work with you.
Another benefit of getting access to our drop ship directory at THE SHIPPER is we have already established the relationship with the suppliers and for the most part, all you have to do is contact them up, get the application, give them information like business name and Tax ID. After that they will either send you a product CD, or give you access to their "members only" area of their website with full access to products including images, product descriptions, pricing and everything else you will need to sell products online.
One other reminder is a phone call will always do more good then an email. Do not think for a second that sending one email to a supplier you are looking to work with is enough. People can ignore emails, but when calling, they need to answer and answering the phone its much harder to avoid. I have had more success working with suppliers on the phone, (and getting what I want) then I have ever had just sending an email.
